Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to Sloper: Ice & Mixed (the “Service”), operated by Sloper Inc. (“Sloper,” “we,” “us”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our Service.
1) Data We Collect
A. Information you provide
- Account information: such as your display name, email address, and authentication method (e.g., Google sign-in or email/password).
- User-generated content: such as route edits, condition reports, photos, comments, and other content you submit to the Service (“Contributions”).
- Support communications: information you provide if you contact us for help or feedback.
B. Information collected automatically
- Log and device data: IP address, browser type, device type, timestamps, pages viewed, and diagnostic/technical data.
- Cookies / local storage: used for essential functionality such as maintaining sessions, staying signed in, and supporting security.
2) Google OAuth Data Accessed (Data Accessed)
If you choose “Continue with Google” to sign in, we use Google OAuth / OpenID Connect for authentication.
We only request basic identity information needed to sign you in, which typically includes:
- Email address
- Basic profile information (such as name and profile picture)
- Google account identifier (a unique user ID provided by Google)
- OAuth tokens / ID token needed to complete sign-in and maintain your session
We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive files, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or any other Google services beyond basic sign-in.
3) How We Use Data (Data Usage)
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you (including Google sign-in).
- Provide and operate the Service, including community features and Contributions.
- Maintain safety and integrity (fraud prevention, abuse detection, enforcing rules, troubleshooting).
- Communicate with you about account, security, and support matters.
- Improve the Service, including understanding usage patterns and fixing bugs (using aggregated or de-identified data where feasible).
4) Data Sharing (Data Sharing)
We do not sell Google user data or other personal information.
A. Public content you choose to share
If you post Contributions (e.g., photos, route edits, comments), that content may be publicly visible within the Service, along with your chosen display name and/or attribution connected to the Contribution.
B. Service providers (processors)
We may share information with third-party vendors that help us run the Service (for example: hosting, database storage, logging/monitoring, email delivery). These vendors may process data only on our instructions and only as needed to provide services to us.
C. Legal, safety, and rights
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or government request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sloper, our users, or the public; or to investigate/prevent suspected fraud or security issues.
D. Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
5) Data Storage & Protection (Data Storage & Protection)
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures may include:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) when data is sent between your device and our servers
- Access controls limiting who can access production systems and data
- Monitoring and logging to help detect abuse and maintain reliability
- Secure credential handling (for example, storing passwords using industry-standard hashing when email/password accounts are used)
No system can be 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and improve safeguards over time.
6) Data Retention (Data Retention)
We retain information only as long as necessary to operate the Service and for legitimate business purposes:
- Account data (including Google sign-in identity info): retained while your account is active.
- Contributions (route edits, photos, etc.): retained to maintain the integrity/history of the community database. If you delete your account, we may de-identify Contributions (e.g., remove linkage to your account) rather than remove historical content entirely, unless deletion is required by law or feasible without harming database integrity.
- Logs and security records: retained for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) unless needed longer for security investigations, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
- Backups: deleted or overwritten on a rolling basis (typically within 30 days).
7) Deletion Requests (Data Deletion)
You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@sloperclimbing.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”.
To help us verify the request, include:
- the email address associated with your account, and
- whether you signed up via Google or email/password.
What we will do: We will delete or deactivate your account information within a reasonable timeframe (typically 30 days), remove or anonymize personal identifiers where possible, and handle Contributions as described in the retention section (delete where feasible, otherwise de-identify attribution while preserving community history).
If you used Google sign-in, you can also revoke the Service’s access from your Google Account settings.
8) Your Choices
- Access/update: You may be able to update certain profile details in the Service.
- Disconnect Google: You can revoke access through your Google account settings.
- Cookies: You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly (such as staying signed in).
9) Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Effective date” above.
